GMI Career Fair

GMI Career Fair

Location: German-Malaysian Institute (GMI)
9.00 am - 5.30pm
22 October 2015

HPMT was very much honored to be invited by the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) located by Bangi to set up an exhibition booth to recruit more talents from the younger generation.

HPMT gain access to a large number of candidates in a one-stop environment. In the four to five hours of a career fair, we meet with dozens of candidates per representative, says Jemi, a HR Manager in the HPMT. “Recruiters and managers get the chance to have a face-to-face interaction with candidates that are interested in our organization. Appreciated GMI offered us a chance to join this career fair."

Joining this career fair also helps to increase HPMT brand awareness. Ms SF Gan, PR Manager of the HPMT, says a career fair is a form of public relations for a company. “It’s a way to get your name out in a positive light, to encourage talented job seekers to consider you, and to have a conversation with real people, rather than resumes.”

Employers that participate in a career fair develop strong brand awareness among job seekers, students, staff, and even other employers, Ms Gan adds. “In the brief time they are at a career fair, thousands of sets of eyes filter past and get to take in the marketing collateral they provide. Strong visual displays draw people in and numerous employers have stated that building brand awareness is a key component of participating in these public events.”

Moreover, by participating, companies get their names, logos, and websites attached to marketing materials sent out by university career centers and other organizations that host career fairs. “In a sense, it becomes a marketing multiplier for them that is attached to some excellent connections with a pipeline of new talent,” she says.
