HPMT Group (“HPMT”) respects the privacy of all individuals with whom we have a contractual relationship. We are committed to protecting and safeguarding all personal data kept by us. 


As required by the Act, we are required to inform you of your rights in respect of your personal data that is being collected and the purpose for the data processing. The Act requires us to obtain consent to the processing of your personal data. 


We regard your provision of the personal data to us and or continuing access to any of our social media platforms (not limited to our websites) as a declaration that you have understood this Policy and agree to us processing your Personal Data in accordance with the manner as set out in this policy.

Collection of Personal Data 

Your personal data may be collected from you during your course of dealings with us or we may also collect your personal data from a variety of sources, including but not limited to webinars, seminars, roadshows, exhibitions, customer satisfaction surveys organized by us, as well as publicly available resources and data provided or made available by third parties, credit reference bodies, regulatory authorities.

Examples of the following personal data we may collect from you:

  • personal information to establish your identity and background such as your full name, passport or identity card number, nationality and religion.
  • contact information such as billing address, premises address, telephone number, mobile phone number, fax number and email address.
  • payment information such as your debit or credit card information, including the name of cardholder, card number, billing address, expiry date and other bank account details.
  • sensitive information such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, criminal background or trade union membership. We do not generally collect sensitive information unless it is necessary due to exceptional circumstances to serve you better and meet your particular needs.
  • recording of your image via CCTV cameras installed (if any) at our offices, branches or premises.
  • recording of your photograph during any of our corporate events.
  • recording of calls placed by you to our customer services.
  • function or post when you commence a business relationship with us.
  • resume or CVs when you apply job with us.

For general web browsing although no personal data is revealed to us, however we may obtain certain technical and statistical information via our internet service provider such as cookies, your IP address, the time, date and duration of your visit.

If you provide us with any personal data relating to a third party (such as information of your spouse, children, parents, and/or employees), by submitting such personal data to us, you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of the third party to provide us with their personal data for the purposes as listed below.

Purpose of Acquiring and Processing Your Personal Data

The Personal Data collected from you or through such other sources as may be necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes at the time it was collected, may be processed

  • to conduct surveys, questionnaire, and provide you with information from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • to engage in business transactions in respect of services to be offered and provided to you.
  • to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations under the applicable laws, regulations, guidelines or industry codes that apply to us.
  • for internal management of the services being provided to you.
  • to maintain records required for security, claims or other legal purposes.
  • to provide training for our staff.
  • to share any of your personal data with our joint venture, business partners to jointly develop products and/or services or launch marketing campaigns.
  • to conduct marketing and information technology activities (for example, market research).
  • to persons who have been identified as being you or your authorized representative(s) pursuant, for the purpose of the relevant transaction or enquiry.
  • to third parties with whom we have contracted to provide services to us (such as analysis on our behalf) for any of the purposes described above.
  • for detecting, investigating, and preventing
  • for any other purposes that is required or permitted by any law, regulations, guidelines and/or relevant regulatory authorities.
  • to gather information about how you use our websites or mobile apps that connect to this Privacy Policy to improve our websites, and other online services in order to give you a personalized and relevant online experience, we may use tracking technologies such as cookies.

Disclosure of your Personal Data

HPMT is committed to protect your personal data regardless of the nature the data was sourced or collected. We will not sell, rent, trade, transfer or disclose your personal data except to the following third parties, when required

  • Within the HPMT group of companies in order for all HPMT companies to be able to improve their services and support.
  • Immediate family members and/or emergency contact person as may be notified from time to time.
  • Any person under a duty of confidentiality to which has undertaken to keep your personal data confidential which we have engaged to discharge our obligations to you.
  • Any party in relation to legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings.
  • Any companies or organizations that assist us in processing and/or otherwise fulfilling transactions and providing you with services that you have requested.
  • Our business associates and other parties for purposes that are related to the purpose of collecting and using your personal data.
  • Other parties in respect of whom you have given your express or implied consent.
  • Any financial institutions, credit reporting agencies or in the event of default, any debt collection agencies subject to the permitted law applicable to us.
  • Employment agencies as part of the recruitment and selection process and/or otherwise connected to your application for employment with us.
  • Government agencies, law enforcement agencies, courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, industry regulators, ministries, and/or statutory agencies or bodies (such as IRB).
  • If we transfer your data outside Malaysia, we will ensure that all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements are adhered to strictly safeguard your personal data.

Accuracy of your personal data

In order for us to provide you with the product, services and or facilities to you, it is incumbent upon you to provide accurate, complete, not misleading, up to date and reliable data to us. You therefore warrant and declare that all your personal data submitted or be submitted are accurate, complete and not misleading in all respects. You also warrant that you will promptly update us and when such personal data provided earlier to us becomes inaccurate, incomplete or outdated or changes in any way whatsoever by contacting us at the contact details below.

Your Rights to Access and Correct Your Personal Data

You have the right at any time to request us to limit the processing and use of your personal data and to write to us in writing to inform us on your withdrawal (in full or in part) of your consent given previously to us provided it does not contravene any applicable legal restrictions, contractual conditions. In the event such request is made and processed, it may mean that your existing relationship with us and/or the contract that you have with us may have to be terminated.


You also have the right to access and or correct your personal data held by us for reasons to update or change the personal data. However, we reserve the right to refuse your request to access and or/correct your personal data for the reasons permitted under the Law, such as where the expense of providing access to you is disproportionate to the risks to your privacy, or where the rights of others may also be violated, amongst other reasons.

Retention of your Personal Data

We will retain your personal data in compliance with this Policy and/or the terms and conditions of your agreement(s) with HPMT for the duration of your relationship with us, for such period as may be necessary to protect the interests of HPMT and/or its customers as may be deemed necessary, where otherwise required by the law and/or where required by HPMT’s relevant policies.

Security of your Personal Data

We endeavor to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data and keep your personal data secured. Where applicable, we will implement appropriate procedural security measures and technical measures in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations and industry standards to safeguard against and prevent unauthorized loss, damage to, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to your personal data.

Deemed Consent

By submitting your personal data, you consent to the use of that personal data as set out in this Policy. The disclosure of personal data by you is voluntary. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information to us about yourself and any other person whose personal information you provide us. The accuracy and completeness of your personal data depend on the information you provide. We will assume that the information that you have provided is accurate, up-to-date and complete unless you inform us otherwise. If we change our Policy, we will publish the amended version on this page. But you can email or write to us to ask for a copy. Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.
